Superior Uniform Group Dresses Up its Bottom Line as Hospitals Strive to Make a Good Impression

The Seminole-based manufacturer of uniforms and career apparel has just signed a contract to provide uniforms to thousands of hospitals that participate in group purchasing organizations. The new contract won’t take effect until Nov. 1, but Michael Benstock, CEO of Superior Uniform said signing it was one of the highlights of the third quarter ended Sept. 30. Late last year, the company’s Fashion Seal Healthcare brand was awarded a group purchasing contract from Premier Inc.(NASDAQ; PINC), which represents about 3,400 hospitals in the United States and 110,000 other providers.Uniforms are one way hospitals can boost patient satisfaction scores, which increasingly are tied to reimbursements. “Being able to appropriately identify hospital staff members through uniforms is one distinct way to add to patient satisfaction and thereby improve HCAHP ratings,” Benstock said.
